Change of name for the National Centre for Post-Qualifying Social Work (NCPQSW) to the National Centre for Cross-Disciplinary Social Work
Professor Lee-Ann Fenge shares:
We are excited to announce that the National Centre for Post-Qualifying Social Work is being re-branded to become the National Centre for Cross-Disciplinary Social Work to more accurately reflect the context of integrated health and social care practice that we now operate within. We will soon be launching a re-vamped website which will more clearly reflect our qualifying and post-qualifying social work programmmes, our wider CPD menu available across the health and social care sector, and our research and consultancy activity. Our new website will make it easier to book CPD directly through our online application portal and it will link to key practice tools we have developed including the Mental Capacity Toolkit which is currently hosted on an external site (https://mentalcapacitytoolkit.co.uk/). It will also link to our research activity which is located within the Centre for Seldom Heard Voices (https://www.bournemouth.ac.uk/research/centres-institutes/centre-seldom-heard-voices), providing a one-stop shop across our education, practice and research activities.
Knowledge exchange and our 3rd annual leadership conference
Over the past couple of months, the academic team been working research outputs and knowledge exchange with our practice partners. Training and development opportunities have been offered on topics as Domestic Abuse and Child on Parent violence as well as the role of the Approved Mental Health Practitioner.
To continue the learning journey with leaders and manager in Health and Social Care, we are very pleased to invite you to our 3rd annual Leadership Conference through the National Centre for Cross-Disciplinary Social Work. You are now able to sign up here. Please feel free to share the link in your networks for this free event. The themes for this year are:
- ‘The culture of change vs changing cultures’ by challenging our understanding what it means to belong or fit into an organisation or profession.
- How can we be activists and catalysts for change as leaders in practice and education and take our staff ‘with us’, whilst not being afraid to take risks on the way.
- How we embrace the growing change towards ‘greener practice’ and our awareness of environmental impact of events that are beyond our control- from climate change to global pandemics.
- An exploration of what we need to be calm in the ‘eye of the storm of change’, what gives us resilience and strength to keep going on our personal and professional journeys.
Presentations and panel discussions will leave room for your contributions to further the conversation on change and culture.
We are looking forward to see you all there!
