Recognising the signs of sexual abuse in older people (in conjunction with Dorset Rape Crisis)

This event will explore what is currently known about the scale of sexual abuse for
older people, exploring key research and practice developments in the field. This
event will bring together staff from key agencies to explore the topic and consider
future practice in this area.

Speakers to include:
Dr. Hannah Bows: Assistant Professor in Criminal Law (Durham Law School), Deputy Director of the Centre for Research into Violence and Abuse (CRiVA)
Jackie Farquharson: Dorset Victims Champion
Helen Steven: Service Manager STARS – Dorset Rape Crisis

After lunch there will be an opportunity to work with others to explore barriers to disclosure and ways of working effectively across agencies.
